Women's Rodeo struggles in spring season opener

Lassen women's rodeo team traveled to Cloivis this last weekend to compete at the Fresno State Rodeo. Eight teams competed with Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo taking top team honors. Rounding out the field were Feather River, Cuesta, Allan Hancock, West Hills, Fresno State, and UNLV.

Sophomore Lexi Carter and freshman Rylee Prechter both made great barrel racing runs in the mud in Clovis but were just shy of making it back to the short round. They finished a respectable 13th and 17th out of 90 barrel racers.

"It was a rough weekend, full of heart breaking moments our team came home with their heads held high," said Head Coach Suzanne Williams. "They know what they need to work on before their next rodeo (hosted by West Hills College in two weeks)".

This was the first rodeo of the spring 2022 season. The team travels to West Hills College on March 18-19.
