Browne Earns GVC Honorable Mention, Hogmalm Named All-Defensive Team

The Lassen College men’s basketball program is proud to announce that sophomore DeCarlo Browne has been named Golden Valley Conference Honorable Mention, while sophomore Sam Hogmalm earned recognition as a member of the GVC All-Defensive Team.

Browne capped off an outstanding conference season as one of the Cougars’ most consistent and dominant performers. A force in the paint, Browne led the team in scoring and rebounding throughout conference play, highlighted by multiple double-doubles and a 31-point performance on Sophomore Night at the Bob Genasci Sports Complex. His physical presence, efficiency around the rim, and ability to impact both ends of the floor made him one of the top frontcourt players in the conference.

Hogmalm’s All-Defensive Team selection reflects his relentless energy and commitment on the defensive end. Whether guarding the perimeter or battling inside, Hogmalm consistently took on tough assignments, disrupted passing lanes, and provided leadership through effort and toughness. His ability to defend multiple positions and compete every possession embodied the identity of Cougar basketball.
