Cold Shooting Night Plagues Cougars in Road Loss at Butte
The Lassen College men’s basketball team endured a difficult shooting night Wednesday, falling to Butte 84-52 in Golden Valley Conference play. The Cougars trailed 41-22 at halftime and were unable to recover as Butte continued its offensive efficiency in the second half.
Lassen struggled from the perimeter, going 0-for-17 from three-point range, and shot 31.1% overall from the field. DeCarlo Browne led the Cougars with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting while adding six rebounds and two steals. Isaiah Garcia contributed 12 points and eight rebounds, while McKay Robert added eight points. Jailen Childress filled the stat sheet with seven points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Butte shot an efficient 56.9% from the field and 48% from beyond the arc, knocking down 12 three-pointers. The Roadrunners also controlled the glass with a 44-30 rebounding advantage and finished with 26 assists. Lassen will look to regroup offensively and tighten up defensively as conference play continues.
